PEOPLE

Peter Gabany, Creative Director

Twenty-six years ago, in the middle of a photo shoot, Peter had an idea. He thought a lot about it. Then Limelight was born. The agency grew from a creative incubator into a hotbed of creative and strategic thinking. Then it became an innovative hothouse, growing ideas, generating change and building businesses – lots of them.

Peter has done it all – strategy, creative, conversion – for dozens of smaller enterprises like Ganaraska Financial, Valport and Ontario Patient Transfer and for billion dollar corporations like Cameco, Johnson & Johnson, and GE Plastics. He’s also done some heavy thinking for organizations like Fleming College, Tree Canada, The Kawartha Pine-Ridge Board of Education, HKPR Health Unit, Fare Share Food Banks, College Woodwork, Bellissima Chocolates, Ministry of Natural Resources and Northumberland United Way.

Luke Despatie, Art Director

He may appear buttoned-down and serious, and he’s definitely driven by a desire to excel in design and art direction – but a sense of whimsy and wry humour lurk beneath Luke’s reserved shell. It would be a mistake to expect a staid or stuffy approach when Luke is working with clients on their design problems.

After following a winding academic path from Sheridan College to Humber and then Ryerson – studying illustration, print making, digital printing and graphic design – Luke earned a number of awards and achievements in brand identity and design work before settling in Port Hope. Where he continues to win awards and achievements. Naturally.

Adrienne Boyer, Senior Designer/Illustrator

Adrienne is young enough that she doesn’t even count the years yet, but she knows how much time it takes to convert an idea into something that not only works, but is something she can be proud of. It has to make sense. Be elegant. Stimulate emotions. Reach people. Move people. Because if the people aren’t moved, what’s the point?

Adrienne understands the importance of marrying creative and business strategies, but also knows that her task is to create images for business that exude elegance, class, pizzazz and “pop!” Her work is exquisite, whether she’s designing, illustrating, painting or animating.

Barry Octeau, Web Manager

Barry came to us in the late 90s, and has worked on countless web and programming projects since, including some very innovative application developments and web designs.

Barry's the guy we look to when we need someone to handle the stuff the rest of us can barely pronounce, let alone program. He's created everything from enormous intranet database infrastructures for the health-care sector to elaborate corporate websites.

Barry now heads up our web department, where he's now working to standardize client-content-manageable web development and site applications using DotNetNuke software. He's also installed a proprietary development and hosting server for Limelight clients, featuring extensive backup, redundancy and security hardware and protocols. What a guy.

Suzi Gabany, Controller

With all this creative and production going on, somebody has to be watching the numbers. That somebody is Suzi. But she hardly stops there. Suzi manages the office, proofreads, takes care of staff and clients and is a source of so many creative things - things that some of the younger creatives don't know about ; )

Foxy, Security

Thank goodness for our trusty guard dog, Foxy. Always keeping a vigilant eye and ear on the front door while we busy ourselves with design projects and the like.

If you haven't been closely inspected and received the signature "sniff of approval" from this feisty lightweight, you just haven't lived.

Small but mighty, Foxy believes she contributes as much to our work environment as anyone else around here, and who are we to disagree?
