Guess what? Those people out there? They already know you. Even if they don’t have your address, have never shopped in your store, attended your events or peeked in your window after hours, they know something about you. You’re big. You’re small. Helpful. Standoffish. Professional. Laid-back. Affordable. Overpriced.
Of course, most of these people have no idea who you are or how you do business. But public perception, however off-base it may seem, has a strange way of becoming truth over time.
Your brand is you, your business, your product. It’s what people believe you to be. It’s our job to help you build and manage your brand, to guide public perception in the direction you need it to go. We don’t build awareness for its own sake, after all. What we do is help people learn the real story, so that when they go out and tell other people what you’re all about, they’re doing you a favour — not a disservice.
