Limelight wins at Regional Design Awards

Limelight took home top honours at the 2010 DesignEdge Regional Design Awards.

At the June 21 ceremony in Toronto, 58 winners were chosen from among 142 finalists in 13 categories — including 8 "Best of Region" awards.

Limelight was an award finalist in three categories. Top contenders included our Fare Share Food Bank identity in the Logo category, our Fare Share marketing materials in the Identity Applications category, and our illustrated "Year of the Tiger" calendar poster in the Miscellaneous category.

Awarded "Best in Region" was Limelight's Fare Share logo. The design was lauded by the panel of judges as demonstrating "strong conceptual thinking," being "a simple, iconic symbol" and "instantly recognizable and understandable."

The logo was produced by Limelight as part of our social responsibility campaign to assist the local food bank in promoting its work in the community.

"It's great to be honoured for our work, particularly with this client," said Limelight president and creative director Peter Gabany. "It's always wonderful to be recognized within the design community — especially when it's something you've put your heart into as we've done with Fare Share over the past year."

"To achieve top honours in our region? Even better."

The Regional Design Awards is a national competition that receives hundreds of entries from across the country every year.
