“Pesky Germs” flu poster in demand as new school year approaches

This fall, in addition to the usual class curriculum of reading, writing and ‘rithmetic, there’s another important subject that will require student education: the H1N1 flu virus.

In Northumberland County, the “Pesky Germs” poster is one helpful tool many organizations and institutions will be using to spread the word.

Created by Limelight Advertising & Design in partnership with Dr. Mark Azzopardi, the Port Hope Community Health Centre (CHC) and the Haliburton-Kawartha Pine Ridge Health Unit (HKPR), the colourful poster is eye-catching, fun and informative.

The poster is aimed primarily at educating school-aged children about the flu virus, but will teach people of all ages how to guard against spreading the infection.

Health officials have predicted a spike in the spread of the H1N1 virus once schools reopen this year, making student education all the more important in the coming weeks.

To request a free copy of the poster, educators, librarians, sports instructors, child care providers or other interested institutions may contact:

Please note that poster quantities are limited, and distribution will be on a first-come first-served basis.
